Dramatic, glacially carved landscapes
Take a ride on the big shoulders of the Cariboo mountain range. With massive, glaciated vistas right out your front window, you’ll see instantly that the skiing at CMH Cariboos is packed with the type of landscapes you’ll retell in stories for years to come. Glacially carved valleys, expansive terrain above treeline, dramatic alpine lake cirques and distracting-but-stunning views ensure the scenery is as memorable as the pow. The sense of scale makes one feel small and reminds us of the restorative power in the mountains. Yet, this friendly, open terrain is also an ideal venue for strong intermediate to expert skiers and riders — we’re talking young shreds to seasoned vets — making it home turf for everything from our Powder Intro and Powder Masters trips to our Family Adventure and Heil-Assisted Ski Touring packages.
The more northern latitudes at CMH Cariboos also mean lighter, drier and colder snow that lasts longer into the extended season than in the Canadian Coast Ranges. The runs at the Cariboos lean toward long, open shots with dramatic alpine backdrops in the classic, timeless style of guided heli-skiing. Gliding among nature’s giants is what you’ll find — and remember forever — here at the Cariboos. There’s a darn good reason our founder, Hans Gmoser, selected its incredible location as one of CMH’s original heli-skiing destinations more than 40 years ago.
