Smaller heli, bigger vertical
Small-Group heli-skiing is for those who want to maximize their powder time with like-minded snow seekers. On a CMH Small-Group trip, you’ll ski or ride with just four or five guests (that’s more than half the size of a regular Signature Trip.) What does that mean? Typically, it allows for a faster pace and more flexibility — with fewer skiers and riders in your group, you’ll manoeuvre through the terrain faster, and in and out of the helicopter quicker, meaning more time to make turns.
The Small-Group experience usually comes with the opportunity to get more vertical than a Signature Trip, and the chance to tailor the runs more easily to your group’s shared goals and pace. Unlike a Private or Exclusive Trip where you bring an entire group, our Small-Group trips offer the chance to book solo or with a select few and be matched with similar skiers and riders. You’ll join up with other guests at the lodge for après. Make more laps — and new friends.
Group Size
5 guests + 1 guide
On a typical Small Group Trip at CMH, you’ll get to ski or ride in personalized groups of up to 4-5 guests, plus 1 guide. When you think about sharing resort groomers with up to 20,000 people on any given Saturday, 5 is a magic number.
Helicopter
Bell 407 or A-Star B3*
Small Group Trips use either the compact Bell 407 or the sought-after A-Star B3.
*Varies by destination.
Skiable Terrain
3,000,000 acres
CMH's total terrain is bigger than all North American ski areas put together. That’s not a typo. Our exclusive three-million-acre territory is 20x larger than all the combined chairlift skiing on the continent. Woah. It would likely take several years to ski all our runs more than once — but we’re happy to help you try. Just throwin’ the challenge out there.

Average vertical
30,500m / 100,000 ft
On a 7-day CMH Small Group Trip, you'll log around 100,000 vertical feet of skiing and riding, which is approximately 45 heli rides worth of “Yewwwwww!” (This amount will vary based on trip length, run length, group dynamics, weather, etc.) Fun fact: to log the same amount of vertical at a resort, you’d have to spend 6-7 hours in a lift line and take double the number of chairlift rides. Heli, please.
