From planning your trip to dropping into your first run, here’s everything you need to know about heli-skiing at CMH.
All 11 of our heli-skiing destinations are located in British Columbia, Canada, and accessible with direct flights from most major airports to Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Kelowna International Airport (YLW). Upon your arrival at either airport, you'll travel on the Trans-Canada Highway to your chosen lodge.
Complimentary WiFi is available at all of our heli-skiing lodges, as well as a computer area that you can use for internet browsing. Due to the remote nature of some of our heli-skiing lodges in British Columbia, cell service may not always be available; however, phones are available for use in the computer area.
Our terrain varies between our 11 heli-skiing lodges in British Columbia, depending on your chosen destination and trip type. From alpine bowls and wide-open runs to tight trees and pillow lines, you have some great options. To make it easier, we recommend taking our quick quiz – Help Me Decide
The pace of skiing depends on each individual heli-skiing lodge and trip type. For a more relaxed pace of heli-skiing, please take a look at our Powder Intro or Powder Masters programs at CMH Cariboos, CMH Bugaboos, CMH Revelstoke or CMH Adamants. If you're interested in notching big vert on your belt, we recommend heli-skiing trips to lodges such as CMH Bobbie Burns, CMH Galena or CMH Monashees. If you're still undecided, take our quick quiz – Help Me Decide
Upon arrival at our heli-skiing lodges, you'll have some time to settle in and explore your accommodation. Soon after, there will be a welcome briefing for all guests about what to expect during your trip. From there, you will head outside to undergo safety training with our experienced heli-skiing guides. This training reviews helicopter safety protocols, as well as thorough transceiver and avalanche rescue procedures.
You are not required to pay a single supplement if you are a solo traveller; however, if you want to confirm a single room, you will need to pay an upgrade fee, which varies by each heli-skiing lodge.
